What is it and what does it do? Wrinkle relaxing injections are a neurotoxin that causes the muscles of the face to relax by blocking overactive nerve impulses that trigger excessive muscle contractions, consequently smoothing out wrinkles. The treatment has a bonus, it will give your skin a fresh glow that is thicker, firmer and more youthful. It acts as a preventative measure by stopping wrinkles from deepening or new ones emerging. How we do it? Using a small needle botulinum toxin is injected into specific muscles within your face. Initially there will be some redness and swelling, however as this is known as the “Lunch Time Treatment” and will soon diminish. There will be no visible changes immediately, but you should notice your lines relax at around 2 - 8 days. The full effects will not be visible for 2 weeks. The treatment is inclusive of a 14-day top-up review. How long does it take? The full treatment with consultation will take up to 45 minutes. New clients are required to have a free consultation prior to the treatment, this is required to discuss your suitability and will cover your medical history, current medications and the look that is desired. How long does it last? The effect is temporary and will last between three to six months, depending on the individual patient. It is currently the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal of wrinkles.
